Barbie Clothes Version: Do you keep both version or one?

There are a few Barbie outfits that have been issued more than once. They may have been issued with the same name and number.  They may have been issues with different names and numbers. We all know them.  But there are differences in each.  The question is do you collect both or just one?

The first outfit I can think of is #911 Golden Girl.  It comes with a dress, purse, short gloves, necklace, and shoes.   And in the same year, they issued it again in #961 Evening Splendour.   It comes with a dress, coat, purse, short gloves, necklace, and shoes.  Added to the outfit are earrings, a hat, and a hankie.

#949 Rain Coat comes with coat, hat, boots & umbrella.  A few years later it came out as #0949 Stormy Weather with the same items.  This is a perfect example do you have both or did you only keep one.

#959  Theatre Date out in 1963 and then also in 1964.  But they are different.  The first one comes with a jacket, top, skirt, hat, and shoes.  The #1612 Theatre Date comes with a jacket, top, skirt, and shoes.   So they removed the hat.   At the same time, they removed the hat from the outfit they add it to 1964 Pak: Dress Up Hats.

Sweater Girl is one of the few that has the same items.  The difference is they changed the colors each time.

  • #976 Sweater Girl - orange sweater & shell, grey skirt, yarn in a bowl, scissors, book, and shoes.
  • #957 Sweater Girl - this set is all blue and the accessories are the same
  • #0957 Sweater Girl - this set is all pink and the accessories are the same

In 1965 they issued #1635 Fashion Editor. It comes with a dress, jacket, hat, shoes, and camera.  In 1966 they issued it as #1672 Club Meeting.  It comes with a dress, jacket, shoes, and camera.  The hat was again removed.

In 1965 they issued #1644 On the Avenue.  It comes with a dress, coat, purse, necklace, short gloves, and closed-toe shoes.  Then in 1966, it was issued as #1976 Fabulous Fashion.  It comes with a dress, coat, purse, and closed-toe shoes.  This time they removed the necklace and short gloves.

In 1965 they issues #1648 Photo Fashion. It comes with a sweater, pants, a dickey, shoes, and a camera. Then in 1966 was #1671 Sporting Casuals. It comes with a sweater, pants, and shoes.  In this one, they removed the dickey and camera.

There are more ex-sample but the question is the same.  Do you keep both outfits and just one?
